Santorini Nautical Museum: The Nautical Museum of Santorini is located in Oia, the most picturesque village of Santorini, in the north part of the island. It is located in an elegant mansion and houses nautical instruments, shipping documents, aquarelles, parts of ships and a small library.
The museum was founded in 1956 and its exhibits present the nautical history and the island’s tradition, mostly during the 19th and 20th century.
All items on display at the museum have detailed descriptions. The ground floor houses nautical equipment as well as tools with a short description of the use of every item. Of special interest are the nautical archives and the historical documents. The first floor houses many uniforms, portraits and impressive ship replicas.
