Roka Kafeneio Ouzeri

My partner and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Roka Kafeneio Ouzeri in Oia, and we had a truly wonderful experience. The restaurant is located in an old building with unique architecture, in an area where old preserved captain houses can be admired.

Location and Atmosphere:
Roka Kafeneio Ouzeri is situated in the heart of Oia, and the warm colors of the small courtyard filled with trees and flowers give you a feeling of relaxation and a pleasant welcome, allowing you to escape from the crowd.
Inside, there are three small charming rooms, perfect for colder nights near the wooden stove while enjoying delicate flavors.
On the backside of the restaurant, there is a wonderful sea view of the northwest side of the island, providing a hidden and private dining experience just a few minutes away from the main marble walkway.
Food:
My partner had The Grilled Fresh Dorado Fillet that like he said was a standout dish, served in a delicious lime sauce with spaghetti vegetables and carrot puree.
The fish was cooked to perfection, flaky and tender, with the lime sauce adding a zesty kick to the dish. The spaghetti vegetables and carrot puree added a wonderful texture and sweetness to the dish, making for a well-rounded meal.

I truly loved my Homemade Smoked Pork Belly served with cedar and thyme, glazed with a layer of potatoes.
The smoky flavor of the pork belly was a perfect match for the earthy and aromatic cedar and thyme, while the glazed potatoes added a wonderful sweetness to the dish.
For dessert, we tried the ‘Greek Coffee’ Crème Brulee, which was a wonderful twist on the classic dessert. The cacao crumble and cognac froth added a richness and depth of flavor, while the dodourmas (mastiha) ice cream added a unique and refreshing twist.

Overall, the food at Roka Kafeneio Ouzeri was exceptional, with each dish bursting with flavor and made with care and attention to detail. The menu was diverse, with a range of traditional and unique dishes on offer, and the desserts were the perfect ending to a delicious meal.
